Google Play screenshot size (2026): 1080×1920, tablet sizes, feature graphic and limits

Google Play phone screenshots should be 1080×1920 pixels (portrait, 9:16) or 1920×1080 in landscape. Unlike Apple, Google does not enforce one master size; it enforces a range, and 1080×1920 is the size inside that range that looks best in the Play Store carousel and that almost every listing uses. This page has the full limits, the tablet sizes, and the two non-screenshot assets the Play Console asks for that catch people out.

This is the Google Play chapter of our full screenshot size guide. Apple's sizes are on the iPhone and iPad pages.

SlotRecommended (portrait)Count
Phone1080×19202 to 8 — required
7″ tablet1200×1920Up to 8, if shipping to tablets
10″ tablet1536×2048Up to 8, if shipping to tablets
Chromebook1280×800 (landscape)Optional

Play separates 7-inch and 10-inch tablet slots. The 10-inch recommended size, 1536×2048, is a 3:4 canvas, the same shape as an iPad, so a set composed for iPad translates well here (re-export at the new pixel count; do not upscale). The 7-inch size, 1200×1920, is closer to a phone's 9:16 and can usually share the phone composition. If your app supports tablets, fill both slots: Google's large-screen quality guidelines say listings without proper tablet assets can be ranked lower and excluded from featuring on tablets.

The iPhone 6.9-inch master is 1260×2736, an aspect ratio of about 9:19.5. That is taller than Play's 9:16 ceiling, so the upload fails. Cropping to 9:16 removes roughly 15% of the height, and because most compositions put the headline at the top, that is usually what gets cut. The reliable approach is to re-compose the same design on a 1080×1920 canvas so the headline, device frame, and background are laid out for the shape they will ship in. That is what Storeshot does: the platform and device you choose set the canvas before composition starts, so nothing is cropped afterwards.

Landscape is fully supported: 1920×1080 for phones is inside the 16:9 limit. As on the App Store, keep one orientation per slot and reserve landscape for apps that run sideways, since the Play Store carousel displays portrait frames larger.

1080×1920 pixels (portrait, 9:16) is the recommended phone size. Google's hard limits are wider: each side between 320 and 3840 pixels and an aspect ratio between 16:9 and 9:16, JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha, max 8 MB.

At least 2 and at most 8 phone screenshots. Tablet screenshots (7-inch and 10-inch) are separate slots and are needed if your app targets tablets; each accepts up to 8.

1024×500 pixels, JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha. It is required to promote the listing and appears in some browse surfaces and behind the play button of a promo video. Keep important text away from the edges because it is cropped on some surfaces.

Not the 6.9-inch iPhone set. 1260×2736 is roughly 9:19.5, which is outside Play's 16:9 to 9:16 range, so the Play Console rejects it. Cropping to 9:16 removes the top or bottom of the composition. Re-compose at 1080×1920 instead.
